This screensaver is the most minimal you’ll ever come across: it just fades your screen to black. That’s it…

I needed a screensaver with this exact functionality and after spending 5 minutes online looking for one, I came to the conclusion that it would be faster to just make it myself. Most people won’t have a use for it, but I do (yes, I realize you could put your display to sleep), and someone else might… So here it is.

This is for OS X 10.4 and higher. Just unzip the file and put it there: /Users/your_account/Library/Screen Savers/mScreensaver.qtz

Then you can select it from: System Preferences » Desktop and Screen Saver

Select mScreensaver in System Preferences
